About the position:

We are looking for a Product Owner and Research Manager for our climate stress testing team that helps financial institutions, supervisors, central banks to understand the risk for the financial system due to physical climate impacts and a delayed transition to a low-carbon economy. Your main assignments will be to manage the further development of our climate stress testing methodology and software tools, prioritising according to grant requirements, strategic developments in the debate in the field and user feedback. It will be especially important to structure the requests from different stakeholders in a way that is consistent with 2DII’s overall strategy and that puts the researchers and software developers in the best possible position to deliver the tools we aim to create. One main task will also be to build up a stress testing platform, combining various climate-related stress tests on the market, offering a centralised and harmonised solution. Furthermore, we envision to integrate other long-term risks such as biodiversity and social risks and build up capacity for using stress tests through the platform. The project will be located in 2DII’s 1in1000 research stream that focuses on complex risks and long-term supervision.


  • Create roadmap, taking into account needs from different parties – internal as well as external, such as user feedback, internal ideas, technical needs
  • Running project management and coordination meetings with a team of 5+ people
  • Ensure that the planned research and development work is in line with the strategic vision of 2DII
  • Identify bottlenecks and push for solutions
  • Responsible for the success of the stress-testing platform
  • Monitoring project progress, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks within the team
  • Contribute to the further development of our transition risk and physical risk stress testing methodology through active research and structuring research tasks for the team
  • Ideally be the contact point for external stakeholders
  • Ideally taking over the line management for stress test analysts

Desired qualifications:

  • Proven work experience (2-5 years) in sustainable finance or a comparable field
  • Strong analytical skills that enable you to be the intellectual leader of the project
  • Experience in project management, notably bringing large projects to a successful conclusion
  • Experience with tech development and product design is a strong plus
  • Independent and pro-active style of work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in agile workstyle with Jira / ADO or other project management software is a plus

About 1in1000: 1in1000 is a new research program by 2° Investing Initiative that brings together new & existing research projects on long-termism, climate change, and adjacent future risks for financial markets, the economy, and society. Its objective is to develop evidence, design tools, and build capacity to help financial institutions and supervisors to mitigate and adapt to future risks and challenges. The programme focuses on climate change (inter-) connected risks and challenges, notably risks stemming from ecosystem services and biodiversity loss, as well as risks from social cohesion and resilience. To achieve this objective, 1in1000 operates with three main areas: i) Long-term metrics; (ii) Risk (management) tools and frameworks; and (iii) Policies & incentives.
