Internship/Working student – Data analyst in the 1in1000 team

We are looking for a working student or an intern to join our growing team working on the new research program named '1in1000'.

Internship or working student role - preferably 10-20 hours per week
No later than January 17th, 2022
6 months

Your main assignment will be data analysis and performing research in a new and challenging field. You will research new data sources, write scripts for data wrangling and analysis, and collaborate with our data science developers in building a new database that helps financial institutions, supervisors, and central banks develop risk and sustainability profiles for SMEs. Desired qualifications: 

  • Hands on experience with data analysis in R (preferred), Python or comparable
  • Currently enrolled in your studies (preferably master’s level) with a strong quantitative focus
  • Creative mind and motivated to crack new challenges with strong problem-solving skills
  • Reliability and a strong eye for detail
  • Good level of understanding / a desire to learn / previous work or internship experience in the following topics: finance, SMEs ecosystem in the EU, sustainability or risk management topics
  • Experience in working with geospatial data, risk heat maps or supply chain data is a plus
  • Text mining skills are nice to have

About 1in1000: 1in1000 is a new research program by 2° Investing Initiative that brings together new and existing research projects on long-termism, climate change, and (inter-)connected future risks for financial markets, the economy, and society. Its objective is to develop evidence, design tools, and build capacity to help financial institutions and supervisors mitigate and adapt to future risks and challenges. The program focuses on climate change and the universe of risks and challenges linked to climate change, notably ecosystem service and biodiversity loss, as well as risks from a decline in social cohesion and resilience. To achieve this objective, 1in1000 focuses on three main areas: i) Long-term metrics; (ii) Risk (management) tools and frameworks; and (iii) Policies & incentives.
