Annual High-Level Expert Forum for Sustainable Finance

Leveling the (green) playing field for retail investors

9:30am CET, Dec. 1 – 6pm CET, Dec. 2 | Online

How can we close the financing gap for energy efficiency and sustainable energy investments? This online conference will bring together experts from the European Commission, Principles for Responsible Investment, E3G, Nasdaq, Centre for European Policy Studies, Mazars, WWF, Better Finance, 2° Investing Initiative (2DII), and University of Maastricht, for a series of virtual panels, workshops, and networking sessions.

Greening investments is a top priority for the EU, but a massive reorientation of the economy and financial sector is needed to reach this goal. We’ll discuss ways to help “shift the trillions,” better integrate sustainability into the retail investing market, and measure the financial sector’s impact on the real economy. Access the full agenda and list of speakers here.

This conference is organized by Better Finance, WWF, University of Maastricht, and 2° Investing Initiative, members of an EU-funded project to level the playing field for energy-efficiency investment projects.

2DII today announced it is transferring stewardship of the Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) to RMI, formerly Rocky Mountain Institute. PACTA measures financial portfolios' alignment with various climate scenarios, including those consistent with the Paris Agreement. Under RMI’s stewardship, PACTA will remain a free, independent, open-source methodology and tool, and will continue to provide the financial and supervisory community with forward-looking, science-based scenario analysis to help users make climate-aligned financing decisions. RMI will invest in scaling up PACTA’s usability and applicability in day-to-day investment decisions as well as reporting requirements.
