UNEP-FI Webinar Series: The Net Zero Banking Alliance

A series of virtual events on UNEP-FI's net-zero finance alliances in Spanish, English and Portuguese

Note: this webinar will be in Spanish with simultaneous translation in English and Portugueuse.

Since the signing of the Paris Agreement, there has been a growing number of climate-related financial sector initiatives, from the UN Race to Net Zero campaign, the Glasgow Finance Alliance for Net-Zero (GFANZ), and the Net-Zero Asset Owners Alliance. In this context, UNEP-FI, together with partners including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and UN Principles for Responsible Investment, is organizing a series of webinars titled UNEP-FI’s Financial Partnerships in the Race to Net Zero Emissions.

The first webinar on the Net Zero Banking Alliance will take place on 16 November, featuring a presentation from 2DII’s Daisy Pacheco on PACTA for Banks, as well as other speakers from Bancolombia, UNEP-FI, and more.

The objective of the series is to analyze these partnerships’ contributions to the Race to Net Zero, as well as to share participants’ motivations, progress achieved and challenges they still face.

2DII today announced it is transferring stewardship of the Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) to RMI, formerly Rocky Mountain Institute. PACTA measures financial portfolios' alignment with various climate scenarios, including those consistent with the Paris Agreement. Under RMI’s stewardship, PACTA will remain a free, independent, open-source methodology and tool, and will continue to provide the financial and supervisory community with forward-looking, science-based scenario analysis to help users make climate-aligned financing decisions. RMI will invest in scaling up PACTA’s usability and applicability in day-to-day investment decisions as well as reporting requirements.
