Senior Communications Consultant

We are recruiting for the newly created position of Senior Communications Consultant, to work primarily on our Retail Investing Program.

The 2° Investing Initiative (2DII) is an independent, non-profit think tank working to align financial markets and regulations with the Paris Agreement goals. Globally focused with offices in Paris, Berlin, New York, London, and Brussels, 2DII coordinates some of the world’s largest research projects on sustainable finance. Our work is focused around four main research streams: Retail Investing; PACTA/Climate Scenario Analysis; Impact; and Long-term Risk Management and Supervision.

2DII’s Retail Investing Program employs data-driven research, legal analysis, product development, and communications tools to integrate sustainability into the retail investing market. One of our key areas of work under this program is the sustainable investing resource platform, MyFairMoney, which is live in Germany and will soon be launched across the European market. Position summary

The Senior Communications Consultant will work closely with the Retail Investing team and Communications Manager to drive awareness of the program, in addition to contributing to other communications work at 2DII. This role is an excellent opportunity to apply your communications skills to climate and sustainability issues, to join one of the most well-recognized think tanks in the sector, and to collaborate with other leading organizations.

The successful candidate will be fluent in French and English.

Main responsibilities:

  • Devising and implementing integrated digital communications campaigns in French and English, with a special focus on the MyFairMoney platform
  • Social media management (campaigns, content creation, community management, analytics, etc.)
  • Writing and editing website content, newsletters, blogs, surveys, and other materials to help build and engage with a strong user base
  • Designing visuals and/or coordinating with our external providers
  • Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on key analytics and KPIs
  • Project management and liaison with internal/external stakeholders, including partner organizations, external providers, PR agencies, etc.

Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to branding, narrative, and thought leadership strategy and execution
  • Market analysis and benchmarking
  • Policy monitoring and analysis, with a special focus on the EU
  • Stakeholder mapping and management
  • Media relations and monitoring
  • Events and webinar organization

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in French and English
  • Previous experience in communications, campaigning, or journalism/media (ideally 4-5 years). We are also open to complementary experience, for instance in climate, sustainability, or finance.
  • Experience using various communications tools and software (social media management, CMS, analytics, etc.). Experience with design/video editing software is a plus but not required.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to clearly convey complex and often technical concepts to different audiences
  • Previous knowledge of, or interest in, climate or finance-related issues is a plus
  • Willingness to apply even if you don’t tick all the boxes!
