About the position:

We are looking for a research software developer/data analyst to join our tilt team. The team is working on a project to build an open-source climate database of SMEs which can be used by banks. The database allows the bank to do their climate assessment on SMEs for reporting, risk management and sustainability assessment. The project is funded by the European Union.

In collaboration with an experienced international team of software developers and research analysts, you will work on the road-testing of the tool with banks. The insights from the road test will be used to enhance the database and our indicators by expanding the coverage of the database, improving data quality, modifying and adding new indicators to assess climate risk and creating the final software tool. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the road test of the tool with the banks and answering their queries from a content and technical perspective
  • Identifying data sources which extend the database and incorporating them in collaboration with the software developers
  • Collaborating with the software developers to improve the quality of matching processes between different datasets 
  • Working with the team to develop functionalities which banks can use as the end-users of the tools
  • Researching to improve existing and develop new indicators to assess climate risks of SMEs

Desired qualifications:

  • Professional experience in sustainable finance and data analysis or relevant degree or alike
  • Hands on experience in exploratory data analysis with R or Python
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical financial and climate topics to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English
  • Well-structured approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to self-organize and successfully juggle multiple projects
  • Flexible, solution-oriented and pragmatic mindset

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following fields is a plus:
    • methods of operations of banks
    • sustainable finance policies
    • knowledge of transition and physical risk
  • Fluency in other European languages
