Jean Boissinot

Jean is Head of Banking and Financial Sector Analysis Division at the General Directorate of the Treasury within the French Ministry of Finance since October 2011. He leads a team of economists in charge of advising on domestic finance issues. Jean also serves as secretary general to the French macroprudential authority. Within the General Directorate of the Treasury, Jean has previously held various positions. From 2010 to 2011, Jean headed the division in charge of European financial institutions at the European Affairs department.

Jean was as well an alternate director at the European Investment Bank. From 2008 to 2010, he worked within the International and Finance directorate at HM Treasury, as a senior policy advisor in the Financial Stability team where he was involved in crisis interventions as well as on the financial reforms agenda.

Jean is an associate professor at the national statistics and economics engineering school (ENSAE, in French) and has previous teaching experience at the National School of Administration (ENA, in French), the Paris Institute of Political Studies and the Pantheon-Sorbonne University. He is a member of the editorial board of the Revue d’économie financière, a French scientific journal that covers financial aspects on the economy, and a board member of the Institut Louis Bachelier, an organization that promotes funding, dissemination and enhancement of research excellence in economics and finance.

He graduated from École Polytechnique and from ENSAE. He also has a postgraduate degree in economics (Paris School of Economics).
